Third Section of the Link Route to the Pennine Way, Cowpe to Shawforth Circular.
We began the walk along the side of Cowpe’s Sports Field, starting with a steady climb up to the start of Rooley Moor Road. Once on the road we headed up to the point where we had finished the second section of the Link Route.

After following the orange way markers for several miles, we arrived at Lee Quarry, where we stopped for our morning coffee.

Just before we arrived at Shawforth we stopped on the slopes of Jam Hill, where we enjoyed our lunch in the morning sunshine.

Once at the end of this section of the walk we made our way back to Cowpe through the Rossendale Valley, having covered 10.5 energetic miles.
