Monthly Long Walk, North Western Hills.
Once again, the walk began in Greenmount with nineteen walkers leaving what is mostly referred to as, The Old School, but was built in 1848 as the first Greenmount Church and Sunday School. The route then took us up to Holly Mount and on to Croichley Fold and down into Two Brooks Valley.
From here we headed through Hawkshaw and up to Top of Qualton and over to Turton Bottoms from where we followed Bradshaw Brook down to Jumbles Reservoir.
We stopped on the shore of the reservoir to enjoy our morning coffee before heading along the Kingfisher Trail and climbing up to Affetside, where stopped for lunch at The Pack Horse.
After lunch we headed back to Greenmount having covered ten satisfying miles.
